Alora is a not-for-profit organization run by students in Cambridge that sells high quality, handmade bespoke gowns and dresses which are made to order by a tailor in Vietnam.
The proceeds are used to fund the education of vulnerable women. They are taught tailoring skills by our Vietnamese partner Ms Yen and her team of experts. This allows the women to earn a comfortable living on their own.
So far we have funded and overseen the education of three women, 2 of which suffer from severe physical disabilities. Find out more about them by clicking on ethical Alora. Our aim for this year is to have another 2 women in full time training and to have begun to educate the women in how to run a successful business. Our long term goal is to establish an official Alora tailoring school called Against All Odds, so more women can gain the valuable skills they need to help turn their lives around.
